I was born in Sri Lanka, and went to school in Trinity College Kandy. I then came to the United States to study at Lafayette College, Easton, PA, where I completed a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. After that, I joined Northwestern University,Evanston, IL where I completed my Masters and Doctorate in Electrical Engineering under the advise of Prof. Aggelos K. Katsaggelos. My PhD thesis was on Downlink Packet Scheduling and Resource Allocation for Multiuser Video Transmission over Wireless Networks, and in this endeavor I received much guidance from Prof. Thrasyvoulos N. Pappas and Prof. Randall Berry, in addition to Prof. Katsaggelos. Currently, I work for Dolby Laboratories in Burbank, CA as a researcher in image technology. In addition to my work, I enjoy eating good food, hiking, biking, playing chess, ping pong, and taking long car trips with my wife, Kish. | |
